About TrendCompare
Corrections Policy
Last updated: 30 April 2026
Our Commitment
TrendCompare is committed to factual accuracy. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and transparently. We treat reader trust as our most important asset.
Types of Corrections
Significant corrections
For factual errors that could affect a reader's understanding (e.g., wrong price, misattributed quote, miscalculated discount, incorrect date), we:
- Correct the error in the article body
- Add a visible “Correction” note at the top of the article explaining what was wrong and what was fixed
- Update the article's
dateModifiedtimestamp - Notify the source/subject if the error involved them
Minor corrections
Typos, formatting errors, broken links, and similar issues are fixed without a public note. The dateModified timestamp is still updated.
Retractions
In rare cases where an entire article is found to be substantially incorrect, we retract it. Retracted articles are:
- Replaced with a clear retraction notice explaining why
- Kept at the original URL (not deleted) — we believe transparency requires a permanent retraction record
- Removed from sitemaps and excluded from Google News indexing
How to Request a Correction
If you believe TrendCompare has published incorrect information, please email corrections@trendcompare.pk with:
- Link to the article in question
- The specific claim or detail you believe is incorrect
- Evidence or sources supporting the correction (if available)
We respond within 48 hours and resolve within 7 days.
Disputed Claims
For matters of opinion or interpretation (e.g., whether a sale is “the biggest of the year”) rather than verifiable fact, we may add clarifying context rather than a correction. Differences of opinion between TrendCompare and a subject company are noted in the article rather than treated as errors.
Data Updates vs Corrections
TrendCompare data is live — prices change hourly. An article citing “Khaadi lawn 3-piece at Rs. 4,500 as of 30 April 2026” is not incorrect when that price changes the next day. We always include the data snapshot date in articles so readers understand the temporal context.
However, if the original price was wrong at the time of publication (e.g., we cited Rs. 4,500 when the actual price was Rs. 6,500), that is a correction.
Editorial Independence
Corrections are made on the basis of factual accuracy, not pressure from brands, advertisers, or other parties. A brand requesting a correction must provide evidence; we do not remove or soften coverage at a brand's request without factual basis.
Public Corrections Log
For full transparency, we maintain a public log of all significant corrections in our blog under the “corrections” tag. This log is searchable and never deleted.
