Pakistan's entertainment industry has united in demanding justice after the harrowing rape and murder of an 18-month-old girl in Karachi's Qayyumabad area. Per the Express Tribune, the accused is reportedly 17 and known to the victim's family.
Frieha Altaf pointed to the hardest truth of such cases — that most child sexual abuse involves trusted individuals. Her message: "Children don't lie" — believe them, and stay vigilant about household staff and caregivers.
Adnan Siddiqui wrote that the suspect's young age "deepens" the horror, calling for "swift and uncompromising justice." Sanam Baloch stressed accountability and support for the family: "Our children's safety is paramount."
Aiman Khan, Mariyam Nafees, Ahsan Khan, Srha Asghar, Zhalay Sarhadi and Ayesha Omar also raised their voices for justice and stronger child-protection policies.
If you suspect a child is being harmed, report it to the Madadgaar National Helpline 1098.
