The most affecting event of this Azadi week isn't a sale — it's a quiet evening: on August 13, 6-7pm, at the National History Museum in Lahore's Greater Iqbal Park, actor Adeel Afzal performs a dramatic reading of authentic Partition letters from 1947, Dawn Images reports.

The letters come from the Citizens Archive of Pakistan — written when the post was often the only thread between separated families: "lifelines carrying stories of hope, longing, and resilience." The event is organised with the Parks and Horticulture Authority; registration is required (link on the museum's Instagram).
