The most affecting event of this Azadi week isn't a sale, it's a quiet evening: on August 13, 6-7pm, at the National History Museum in Lahore's Greater Iqbal Park, actor Adeel Afzal performs a dramatic reading of authentic Partition letters from 1947, Dawn Images reports.

The letters come from the Citizens Archive of Pakistan, written when the post was often the only thread between separated families: "lifelines carrying stories of hope, longing, and resilience." The event is organised with the Parks and Horticulture Authority; registration is required (link on the museum's Instagram).
