Pakistan Fashion's 70% Off Sales

Pakistan Fashion's 70% Off Sales

Walk into Khaadi or browse Asim Jofa during sale season and you'll see "Up to 70% Off!" banners screaming at you. But here's the truth β€” most "70% off" tags in Pakistani fashion are inflated. We have the price-history data to prove it.

What "inflated discount" actually means

An inflated discount is when a brand raises the "original price" right before a sale, so the discount looks bigger than it really is. Classic example:

  1. A lawn 3-piece sells normally at PKR 5,000 for months
  2. One week before sale launch, the website price changes to PKR 9,500
  3. Sale launches: "PKR 9,500 β†’ PKR 4,500 β€” 53% OFF!"
  4. You feel like you saved PKR 5,000. You actually saved PKR 500.

This is a global e-commerce trick, but Pakistan's lack of price-comparison infrastructure makes it harder for buyers to catch. That's exactly why TrendCompare.pk records the price of every Pakistani fashion product, every hour, for 60+ days back.

The honesty leaderboard (June 2026, live data)

We scored every brand's "honesty rate" β€” the percentage of their active sale items where the advertised discount matches the real 60-day price history. Top 10 brands by honesty:

RankBrandHonesty rateAvg "claimed" offAvg "real" off
1Asim Jofa99%34%33%
2Khaadi84%32%28%
3Sapphire71%41%34%
4Maria B69%38%30%
5Sana Safinaz62%57%41%
6Gul Ahmed61%45%32%
7Beechtree58%49%35%
8Generation53%51%34%
9Cross Stitch49%47%29%
10Alkaram44%52%32%

What this means: Asim Jofa's "30% off" actually IS 30% off, 99 times out of 100. Sana Safinaz's "57% off" is really about 41% off on average β€” still a great deal, but the gap is real.

How to verify any discount in 30 seconds

Three quick checks before buying anything on sale:

1. Check the product's price history

On TrendCompare.pk every product page has a "Price History" chart that shows the actual price every hour for the last 60+ days. If the line is flat at PKR 5,000 and suddenly jumps to PKR 9,500 right before a sale β€” the discount is inflated.

2. Use the Wayback Machine

Go to web.archive.org, paste the product URL, and check snapshots from 30-60 days ago. If the original price on Wayback matches the current "discounted" price β€” the sale is fake.

3. Compare across brands

Use TrendCompare.pk's compare page to see the same fabric, weight, and category from other brands. If a "60% off" lawn 3-piece from Brand A is still pricier than the regular non-sale price of similar quality from Brand B β€” the "discount" is theatre.

When inflated discounts actually mean something

Caveat: not every inflated discount is malicious. Some brands genuinely tested higher pricing for a few weeks before lowering. Some have legitimate clearance reasons. The honesty leaderboard above includes ALL price manipulation β€” strategic + malicious. Use it as a directional signal, not absolute truth.

What we recommend: trust honesty rates above 70% (Asim Jofa, Khaadi, Sapphire), be skeptical of discounts on brands below 50% honesty, and always cross-check the price-history chart on TrendCompare before pulling the trigger on anything over PKR 5,000.

The bigger point

Pakistani fashion buyers deserve to know what the real price of a product is. Brands won't tell you the truth β€” but the data does. TrendCompare's live Sale Honesty Report is updated every hour across all 22 mainstream brands. Bookmark it. Refer to it before every "70% off" tap.

Apna paisa apni mehnat ka hai. Discount sirf wahi count karta hai jo asli ho.
