Median = the typical price, not the average. Counts kurta, kurti and shirt listings in the women's category — Pakistani brands use the words interchangeably. Brands with fewer than 40 in-stock kurtas are excluded as too small for a stable median. Sale counts exclude inflated “was” prices (anchor ≤ 3×). Full methodology

Is it cheaper to buy stitched or get a kurta made?
Our data covers listed ready-to-wear and unstitched prices, not tailoring. A tailor's charge is separate and varies by city, so we do not publish a combined figure. The unstitched-versus-stitched price gap is broken down on our 3-piece suit price page.
How are these prices calculated?
Median price of every in-stock item whose name contains kurta, kurti or shirt in the women's category, per brand, recomputed hourly from the brands' own websites. Medians rather than averages, because a few heavily embroidered pieces would pull an average away from what a normal kurta costs. Brands with fewer than 40 in-stock kurtas are excluded as too small to give a stable median.
