Every Azadi Sale banner this week says the same thing: Flat 70% Off. Banners are cheap to print. Price cuts are not.
So instead of reading the banners, we counted. Tonight we pulled live prices for all 22 brands we track — 175,170 in-stock products — and checked how many are genuinely selling below their own original price.
The answer: 71,474 items. That is 41% of the catalogue, not 100%. And among the items that are discounted, the typical cut is around 41%, not 70%.
A week ago that share was 36%. More brands have joined the sale since — but the average cut has thinned slightly, from 43% to 41%. The sale has widened, not deepened.
Below is every tracked brand — including the seven whose Azadi sale has barely started. Nothing is filtered out.

"Catalogue on sale" = share of in-stock products currently priced below their original price (exact count). "Typical discount" = average markdown across every discounted in-stock item for that brand. "Deepest found" = the largest single markdown, after removing 44 items across three brands whose recorded original price exceeds 20x the selling price — those are scraping artifacts, not offers.
Buy now — wide selection and real cuts
Beechtree, Generation, Gul Ahmed, Outfitters, Edenrobe, Stylo, Nishat Linen.
These brands score on both axes tonight: most of the catalogue is discounted and the typical cut is 40% or more. Generation leads on depth (92% of catalogue, ~50% typical) but its live catalogue is small — 281 items. Gul Ahmed is the volume play: 13,734 discounted items, more than any other brand by a distance, and Beechtree now has the widest coverage of all at 94%.
The move worth noting: Nishat Linen has joined this group. A week ago it sat in the "compare first" tier — 72% of the catalogue marked down but a typical cut of only 25%. Tonight the coverage is much the same (71%) and the typical cut has climbed to 42%. Its own Azadi sale opens 12 August, so this looks like the warm-up rather than the peak.
Real examples we verified tonight:
- Generation Spring Fling Straight-Trousers — Rs. 7,998 → Rs. 2,000 (75% off)
- Edenrobe Embroidered Cambric Trouser — Rs. 4,492 → Rs. 1,000 (78% off)
- Beechtree Embroidered Yarn Dyed Shirt — Rs. 6,490 → Rs. 1,990 (69% off)
- Gul Ahmed Yarn Dyed Trouser — Rs. 2,413 → Rs. 890 (63% off)
Buy selectively — deep cuts, narrow selection
Sana Safinaz, Asim Jofa, Khaadi, Sapphire.
These brands discount hard but only on part of the catalogue, so you have to hunt. Khaadi is the clearest case: a ~49% typical cut, but only 56% of its in-stock range is on sale. Sana Safinaz has moved the most here — 69% of the catalogue now discounted at ~48%, up from 47% coverage last week. Sapphire sits at 53% with ~40% off.
- Sapphire A-Line Shirt — Rs. 12,990 → Rs. 3,897 (70% off)
- Sana Safinaz Stitched Yellow Culotte — Rs. 4,104 → Rs. 1,232 (70% off — it has fallen further since last week)
- Asim Jofa AJZ-04 Embroidered — Rs. 14,950 → Rs. 8,970 (40% off — Asim Jofa is running an unusually uniform 40% across its sale range)
Compare before you buy — wide sale, shallow cuts
Cross Stitch, Limelight, Alkaram Studio, Bonanza Satrangi, J. Junaid Jamshed.
Here the banner is honest about coverage but not about depth. Limelight has 89% of its catalogue marked down — nearly the widest on the board — yet the typical cut is ~36%. Cross Stitch is the same shape (89% at ~37%), and J. Junaid Jamshed opened up this week to 61% coverage but at only ~34%. Worth buying only after you have compared the same item elsewhere.
Wait — these sales have barely moved
Elan, Maria B, Lama Retail, Image, Laam, Zellbury.
This is the section most sale round-ups leave out. Tonight:
- Zellbury — 3 discounted items out of 5,518 in stock. That is 0%, unchanged from a week ago.
- Laam — 581 of 73,598 (1%), typical cut ~18%. Laam is a marketplace, so it rarely runs a seasonal sale at all.
- Maria B — 44% of catalogue but a ~28% typical cut, the shallowest of any brand with real sale volume.
- Elan jumped to 48% coverage this week, but on a 124-item catalogue at a ~22% cut. Image 10%, Lama Retail 20%.
If your heart is set on one of these, waiting costs you nothing. Brands that have not moved by the second week of August usually push their Azadi pricing in the last few days — set a price alert and let it tell you.
One warning about the biggest numbers
The deepest markdown on the whole board tonight is a Khaadi embroidered raw silk pant listed at Rs. 30,000 and selling for Rs. 1,600 — a 95% cut. A number that large usually means one of three things: end-of-line stock, a catalogue price that was never really charged, or a data quirk on the brand's own site.
It is not proof of anything dishonest. It is a reason to open the price history before you pay. A 95% badge on an inflated base is worth less than a verified 40% off a price the brand actually charged last month.

What to do tonight
- Need variety? Start with Gul Ahmed and Stylo — together they account for over 23,000 discounted in-stock items.
- Need depth? Generation (~50%), Khaadi (~49%), Sana Safinaz (~48%) and Gul Ahmed (~46%) average closest to half off on the items they do discount.
- Don't spend on Zellbury, Laam, Elan, Image or Maria B tonight — their Azadi pricing is not live yet.
- Check the price history on any item above Rs. 5,000 before paying.
- Set a price alert on anything you want that isn't discounted yet. 14 August is six days away, and Nishat Linen's own sale opens on the 12th.
The Azadi Sale is real — 71,474 items genuinely cost less tonight than they did at full price. It is just considerably smaller and shallower than the banners suggest. 🇵🇰

Method: TrendCompare 22-brand index, database pull on 8 August 2026 at 17:00 PKT — 175,170 in-stock products. All counts are exact; "typical" and "deepest" discounts are computed across every discounted in-stock item for each brand, after removing 44 items (Limelight 24, Asim Jofa 19, Sana Safinaz 1) whose recorded original price exceeds 20x the selling price and is therefore a scraping artifact rather than an offer. Every tracked brand is in the table; none were dropped for having no sale. Discounts are measured against the original price each brand shows on its own site. Nothing here alleges deceptive pricing by any brand — these are aggregate, publicly visible patterns. Prices change hourly and may differ by the time you read this.
