The Deep-Discount Pool Hits 11,034 — up 21% in Two Days

Two days ago we reported 9,133 items at 50% off or deeper. Today:

At 50%+ off	9,133 → 11,034 (+21%)
Discounted overall	29,751 → 33,455
Average genuine discount	38% → 37%
In stock	69,858 → 66,974

There is a contradiction here. Deeply discounted items are rising while the average discount is falling. How can both be true?

The answer is in today's other story. Sana Safinaz moved 594 items from 70–80% off back to 20–30%. Those items stay in the sale pool — so the count goes up — but their discount is now shallow, which drags the average down.

One brand's decision pulled two headline numbers in opposite directions. It is why we do not treat any single market-wide figure as the whole picture.
