The Only Prices Moving Are Moving Up: Limelight Raises 24 by 11%

Last week we reported that the market's prices had stopped moving. They still have — the last four days brought 4, 55, 7 and 31 changes across all 22 brands.

But what little movement there is runs one way. In the past 48 hours 26 prices changed, and every one of them went up. Not a single cut.

Limelight: 24 suits, +11%

Twenty-four of the 26 are Limelight — all pret, all in stock, all exactly 11% higher. The average moved from Rs. 8,170 to Rs. 9,078.

The other two are Gul Ahmed, up 17%.

What it says

Look at what got dearer: khaddar, silk, grip — winter cloth. This is the opposite of a clearance. The brand is setting its winter pret higher before the season, and it is the first time any price has been touched since the sale period ended.

For a shopper the meaning is plain: a Limelight khaddar or silk pret piece you were watching will not be cheaper today than it was last week — and nothing in this week's data suggests a cut is coming at any other brand either.
