The Three-Day Freeze Broke — and Prices Went Up, Not Down
29 prices moved in 24 hours. Not one fell. All of them Limelight jewellery, averaging 43% dearer — and this is not a sale quietly ending.

22 August 2026
For two days we have reported that prices had stopped moving entirely. Today the freeze broke — but not in the direction shoppers were waiting for.
Over the past 24 hours our tracker checked 2,283 prices. Not one fell. 29 rose — every one of them Limelight jewellery, averaging 43% dearer.
- Soraya Drops — Rs 699 → Rs 999
- Stella Necklace — Rs 1,049 → Rs 1,499
- Solmelle Necklace — Rs 1,189 → Rs 1,699
- Solara Necklace — Rs 1,259 → Rs 1,799
One check was necessary before writing this, and we ran it. When something "rises" in price, the usual explanation is that a discount ended — the real price never changed. In a price feed that looks identical to genuine inflation. But these 29 items carried no discount at all: their original-price field is empty in our record and the sale flag is off. This is a genuine list-price increase, not a sale expiring.
What it means: 61,238 discounted items are still sitting untouched on the clothing side. But on accessories, Limelight has decided the cheap-selling window is over. Prices typically rise first where a brand is confident the stock will move regardless — and that is usually the first sign of a new season.
