A Silent Cut: Rs 19,000 Kurta Set at Rs 9,000 — and Nobody Announced It
The deepest cut of the week landed on Laam — 53%. But the product page shows no "was Rs 19,000". We only know because we recorded the old price ourselves.

19 August 2026
The deepest verified cut of the week arrived today, on Laam: a lawn kurta set that went from Rs 19,000 straight to Rs 9,000 — a 53% reduction.
But the price isn't the story — the silence is. That product page carries no struck-through "Rs 19,000", no "-53%" badge. The old price does not appear on the listing at all.
Open the page today and you see one number: Rs 9,000. Nothing tells you it cost twice that yesterday.
So how do we know? Because we recorded the old price ourselves. This is the mirror image of the discounts we usually write about — there, a brand shows an inflated "was" price to make a cut look bigger. Here the brand shows nothing at all, and the cut is real.
How much stock? 14 items were cut on Laam in 24 hours, averaging -48% — nearly all linen co-ord and kurta sets from a single designer (Afsarah). The range is being cleared.
The lesson: the absence of a banner does not mean the absence of a price cut. Which is exactly why keeping a price record matters — our price drops show what nobody announces.
