Unstitched Led the Fall — but the Market Has Now Stopped
Unstitched dropped 6.93% in August, more than any other category. Yet in the last two days only five prices moved in the entire market.

1 September 2026
The steepest August fall was in unstitched — index 82.20, down 6.93% on the month. That is more than double ready-to-wear's −2.99%.
The reason is worth understanding. Unstitched lawn is tied entirely to the summer season. By August it is old stock with no next season to wait for — lawn returns next year in new prints. So the brands have to clear it.
But the market has now stopped. Over the past two days 1,683 prices were checked across the whole market:
- 4 fell (all Laam winter kaftans, a token 2%)
- 1 rose
- 1,678 did not move
All of August's movement happened inside August. September has opened in complete silence.
The average discount holds at 38% — not one point since 27 August.
