Limelight Runs the Market's Second-Biggest Sale — and Its Shallowest Cuts
5,254 items discounted, but an average cut of 21.5% — the lowest of the 18 brands we can measure.

8 September 2026 · English
By volume Limelight runs the market's second-largest sale — 5,254 items, behind only Gul Ahmed's 6,181.
By depth it comes last. Its average cut is 21.5%, the lowest of the 18 brands for which we can compute a reliable figure.
Where the discounts sit
Breaking the 5,254 items into bands shows how the sale is actually built:
- 2,664 items — between 10% and 20% off. More than half the sale sits in that narrow band.
- 1,054 — 20% to 30%
- 767 — 30% to 40%
- 636 — 40% to 50%
- 131 — above 50%. That is 2.5% of the sale.
Strategy, not weakness
A shallow cut is not automatically a problem. It can mean a brand sees its stock moving at close to full price and is using the sale as a nudge rather than a clearance.
A second reading is also available. Gul Ahmed discounts 6,181 items at 41.9%; Stylo, 4,718 at 37.3%. Limelight is competing at that scale with half the force. If the stock is moving, that is shrewd. If it is not, the sale is not really a sale.
We cannot say which, because our stock history for Limelight is not yet long enough to show whether these items are turning over. What we can say is this: if you go to Limelight expecting a deep bargain, roughly one item in forty is cut by more than half.
