A Rs 12,000 Suit for Rs 4,000: the Deepest Cuts All Stop at the Same Price
Among the deepest genuine discounts at 67%, most land on exactly Rs 4,000 β and there is a reason the floor sits there.

22 August 2026
Looking at the deepest end of the 22,856 half-price items, something stands out: the biggest cuts nearly all stop at one number β Rs 4,000.
- Stylo 3-piece embroidered chiffon suit β Rs 12,000 β Rs 4,000 (-67%)
- Stylo long shoes WN9019 β Rs 12,000 β Rs 4,000 (-67%)
- Edenrobe printed cambric 3-piece β Rs 11,990 β Rs 4,000 (-67%)
- Edenrobe printed mesuri 3-piece β Rs 11,990 β Rs 4,000 (-67%)
Why stop at Rs 4,000? Because that is roughly where a price stops reading as "a bargain" and starts reading as "something must be wrong with it". A Rs 12,000 embroidered chiffon suit at Rs 4,000 feels like a find. The same suit at Rs 2,500 makes a shopper wonder about the fabric. So the floor of a clearance tends to settle around a third of the original price.
That is also our own limit. We only accept a "was" price up to 3Γ the current one: if a Rs 2,000 item claims it was once Rs 10,000, that discount does not enter our averages, because such a reference price often exists only on the sticker. So 67% is the deepest cut our figures can show β beyond that we cannot verify the claim ourselves, so we do not count it. How we do it.
